Assigning tribal membership to new users in the Incaverse will be done in a way that balances the game dynamics, promotes community interaction, and enhances the overall gameplay experience. Here are the criteria for assigning tribal membership to new users:
1. Random Assignment
Fair Distribution: New users are randomly assigned to tribes to ensure an even distribution of players across all tribes. This prevents any single tribe from becoming overly dominant and keeps the game balanced.
Diversity: Random assignment promotes diversity within tribes, bringing together players with different skills and backgrounds.
2. Character Type Matching
Skill Synergy: Users can be assigned to tribes based on their chosen character type (Warrior, Artisan, Farmer, Merchant) to ensure that each tribe has a balanced mix of skills. This promotes synergy and collaboration within the tribe.
Warriors: Tribes with a strong need for defense or combat might prioritize warriors.
Artisans: Tribes focusing on crafting and building might prioritize artisans.
Farmers: Tribes with an emphasis on agriculture might prioritize farmers.
Merchants: Tribes involved in trade and economic activities might prioritize merchants.
3. User Preferences
Player Choice: Users can express a preference for a particular tribe during the sign-up process. This preference can be honored if it aligns with the current needs and balance of the game.
Invitation System: Users can join a specific tribe if they receive an invitation from an existing tribe member, particularly the tribe leader. This fosters connections and encourages recruitment efforts within the game.
4. Geographic or Time Zone Considerations
Regional Grouping: We will assign users to tribes based on their geographic location or time zone to facilitate real-time collaboration and communication. This ensures that tribe members are online at similar times, enhancing the cooperative experience.
Global Mix: Tribes can choose to create a mix of time zones to ensure that there is always someone online, promoting continuous activity and engagement.
5. Tribe Capacity and Balancing
The maximum capacity for a tribe in the Incaverse will be 100 members. The benefits of this number are:
Community Feel: This size is large enough to ensure diversity and collaboration but small enough to maintain a sense of community and belonging.
Manageability: Tribe leaders can effectively manage and communicate with up to 100 members, fostering better organization and participation.
Balanced Competition: It prevents any single tribe from becoming too large and dominating the game, promoting a balanced and competitive environment.
Balancing Mechanism: We will implement a balancing mechanism that assigns new users to tribes with fewer members to maintain equilibrium across the game.
6. Player Activity Level
Active Players: Assign more active players to tribes that require more engagement and participation. This ensures that tribes with higher activity demands are populated with users who can meet those needs.
Casual Players: Assign casual or less active players to tribes where their participation level matches the tribe’s activity patterns.
Initial Assignment
Upon entering the game, new users go through a brief orientation where they choose their character type and express any tribe preferences.
Based on the criteria above, the system assigns the user to a suitable tribe.
Tribe Overview Modal
Once assigned, a modal provides an overview of the user’s new tribe, including its history, key members, current goals, and ongoing projects.
Users can also receive a welcome message from the tribe leader, encouraging them to participate in tribe activities.
Invitation and Switching Tribes
Users can receive invitations to join other tribes from tribe leaders. Accepting an invitation allows them to switch tribes if they choose to.
Implement a cooldown period to prevent frequent tribe switching, ensuring commitment and stability within tribes.
Regular Assessments
Periodically, the game system assesses tribe balance and activity levels. If imbalances are detected, new users are assigned in a way that restores equilibrium.
We will provide tribe leaders with tools to manage and recruit members effectively.
